I have for sale my Honda VF1000R project bike that I just don't have the time to complete due to other more pressing projects. Asking price is $5,250.00 ono. The bike is complete but was partially disassembled to a rolling chassis in order to save on labour charge costs when the frame was being checked and straightened, but all parts were boxed and safely stored. Before stripping to a rolling chassis, it seemed prudent to make sure that the engine ran so the carbies were removed and cleaned as through standing they had gummed up with old fuel and crud. Anyone that has had to carry out this task on a V4 Honda will know it's a major undertaking but it was well worth the effort as the engine started easily, idled evenly and revved cleanly. Front fork tubes have been re-chromed by RAD Hard Chrome, who are renowned for their quality work, and reassembled with new fork seals and o-rings in the anti dive mechanism. Fork sliders were re-painted before assembly and front mudguard was also done at the same time to ensure a perfect colour match. Seat has been re-upholstered and new indicators, exhaust gaskets, oil filters, hand grips etc purchased from David Silver Spares in UK. Various fasteners, tail light lens, portion of rear seat tailpiece for repair purposes, and other small items were purchased from a vendor in Canada (don't ever go there) for the restoration. Brand new old stock headlight lens (unobtainium) comes with the bike to replace the cracked one. Brake and clutch master cylinders overhauled and painted. (not calipers) This bike has been "down the road", so there is some minor damage to the fairing and there was a dent in the fuel tank which I got the paintless dent removal guys to remove, however a full repaint would be required. If interested, the bike and all associated parts can be crated for shipment Australia wide from Cairns, however, as I'm not desperate to sell this bike I will not entertain any ridiculous offers. Please feel free to contact me ifyou have any questions or you'd like any more information or more specific photos. Thanks for looking.
